Privacy Policy

KidCash (kidcashapp.com) is a family allowance tracker operated by a2zCreative, LLC. KidCash is used by parents and guardians to manage allowances, chores, and savings goals on behalf of their family. Children are the subject of the data stored in the app, but they are not users of the app — they do not create accounts, sign in, or enter data. We built KidCash to help families manage allowances in a simple, transparent way, and we treat your data with the same care.
Information We Collect
When you use KidCash, we collect the following, and only the following:
- Account information — your email address and name, collected when you sign up through our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Family data you enter — kid names, avatars, allowance amounts, chores, savings goals, transaction history, and anything else you input through the app. This is all data you enter on behalf of your family.
- Subscription state — if you subscribe to a paid plan, we store your plan tier (Free / Family / Big Family), status, and the identifiers issued by our billing processors (a Stripe customer ID for web subscriptions, or an Apple original transaction ID for iOS in-app purchases reconciled via RevenueCat). We do not store credit card numbers or Apple Pay details — those are handled by Stripe and Apple respectively.
- Anonymized usage data — aggregate page views, session duration, and general usage patterns, collected through Google Analytics 4 on our marketing website. No personal identifiers are included.
- Support assistant conversations — if you use the chat assistant, we store your messages and its replies, along with your account ID when you are signed in, so we can follow up on unanswered questions and see which parts of KidCash confuse people. Please avoid typing anything sensitive into it. The assistant is never available on kids’ profile pages.
- Error telemetry — when something breaks, we collect error messages, stack traces, and request URLs through Sentry so we can diagnose and fix bugs. Request bodies are scrubbed before being sent to Sentry, so user-entered content (kid names, transactions, messages) is not transmitted.
We do not collect location data, contacts, photos, health data, microphone audio, advertising identifiers, or any cross-app tracking data. The QR bill scanner uses your device camera only while you are actively scanning, and the image is never recorded or uploaded.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the KidCash service.
- To send transactional emails — account notifications, password resets, optional weekly digest summaries, lead-magnet downloads you request, and replies to contact-form submissions (all delivered via Resend). You can unsubscribe from optional emails at any time from Settings.
- To process subscription billing for users who choose a paid plan, via Stripe (web) or Apple In-App Purchase reconciled by RevenueCat (iOS).
- To understand how the app is used so we can make it better, and to diagnose errors when something breaks.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. KidCash contains no advertising of any kind — no banner ads, no interstitials, no rewarded video, no sponsored content, and no affiliate placements. We do not integrate any ad networks or tracking pixels.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon. All data is isolated per user — you can only access your own family's information. Connections to KidCash are encrypted over HTTPS.
Third-Party Services
We use a small, deliberate set of operational service providers. Each one has a single, clearly-defined purpose, and none of them receive data for advertising, profiling, or resale.
- Clerk — authentication (sign-up, sign-in, session management). Receives your email and name.
- Neon — our primary PostgreSQL database. Stores all user- entered family data (kid profiles, transactions, chores, savings goals). Hosted in the United States.
- Stripe — subscription billing for web users only. Receives your email, name, and billing information. We never see or store your card details.
- RevenueCat — iOS in-app purchase reconciliation. Receives your app user ID and Apple transaction receipt so we can map App Store subscriptions to our records.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (contact form, password resets, optional weekly digest, lead-magnet downloads you request).
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized usage analytics on our marketing website (kidcashapp.com) only. IP anonymization is enabled. Not used inside the app.
- Google Gemini — powers the support assistant. When you send a message, that message and the recent conversation are sent to Google to generate a reply. The assistant has no access to your account, so it never sees balances, kid profiles, or billing details. It is never shown on kids’ profile pages.
- Sentry — error tracking. Receives error messages, stack traces, and request URLs. Request bodies are scrubbed, so user-entered content is not transmitted.
- Vercel — application hosting for our web app and API.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy, linked above, and is bound by a data processing agreement. We share only the minimum data required for each service to operate KidCash. We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to anyone for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.
Children's Privacy
KidCash is designed to be used by parents and guardians, not directly by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The kid names and balances stored in the app are entered and managed entirely by the parent or guardian account holder. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
Data Export & Deletion
You can export all of your data at any time from the Settings page. If you would like your account and all associated data permanently deleted, please email us at support@kidcashapp.com and we will process your request within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
